Privacy Policy

Short version

Local Clipper keeps everything you save on your own device. There is no account, no server that holds your content, no analytics, and no tracking. We cannot see what you save, because nothing you save is ever sent to us.

What the extension stores, and where

• Saved clips, settings and theme — in your browser's own local extension storage, on your machine.
• Saved pages and their text — in IndexedDB, inside your browser profile, on your machine.
• A Pro licence key, if you buy one — stored locally, so the extension does not have to ask you again.

None of this leaves your device. We have no way to read it.

Network requests

The extension makes exactly one kind of outbound request: validating a Pro licence key against Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. That request contains the licence key and an instance name — never your clips, your saved pages, or your browsing history.

When you save a page, images are inlined only from bytes your browser has already decoded (same-origin, blob: or data: URLs). Remote cross-origin images are left as ordinary URLs, so saving a page never fetches anything from the original site.

What we collect

Nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no usage statistics, no advertising identifiers. This website does not set cookies and does not run analytics scripts.

Payments

If you buy a Pro licence, the purchase is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy, who act as the merchant of record. They process your payment details and handle applicable taxes. We never see or store your card details. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.

Permissions the extension asks for, and why

• storage — to keep your clips and settings on your device.
• unlimitedStorage — so a large library doesn't hit the browser's default quota.
• contextMenus — for the right-click "save selection" and "save page" items.
• Access to web pages — to read the text you explicitly choose to clip or save. The extension only acts when you invoke it.

Data you can take with you

Everything is exportable: clips as CSV or JSON, saved pages as a ZIP archive. If you uninstall the extension your data goes with it, because it only ever lived on your device.

Children

The extension is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. Given the design — nothing collected, nothing transmitted — it is unlikely to.
